Happiness

“You will never be happy if you continue to search for what happiness consists of. You will never live if you are looking for the meaning of life.”  Albert Camus

Happiness.

Even the word has a certain expression of its own meaning.

Happiness. What joy is derived in the every day that makes happiness? We must choose to be happy, to be joyful, to be grateful.

Anger and hate are soul consuming destructive forces which many confuse for constructive reasoning.

When we are happy, when we let go of that negativity – we are truly free and alive. When we let go, we truly live.

I find as I age that I need to find happiness. The more I let go of the past and the derision of the present, the more happiness I am able to find. I do not turn a blind eye to the world around me. As I said earlier, I am roaring inside. But I am becoming more at peace with myself. I am finding ‘me’ and by extension I am finding happiness.

Blarg….something, something…Friday

“Laughter and tears are both responses to frustration and exhaustion. I myself prefer to laugh, since there is less cleaning do to do afterward.” Kurt Vonnegut

I’m hoping today is a day filled with laughter, because I am bone exhausted and unsure how I’m going to make it through. Massive brain fog all week means being even more watchful for mistakes at work. Actually, I have to be watchful of everything I do, which makes everything even more exhausting.

Every now and then, I get down. Not emotionally down, but physically down. I push and push and push and then SNAP – I break. I have to rest…do nothing. Take a huge step back. BUT as any parent can tell you, that is not always possible.

You have to laugh through it, otherwise it will bury you.

Herd of Snails

I asked a client today if they received what I had sent them in the mail yet (I sent it via regular mail – as in snail mail). He answered that yes he had received it today, and I quote, “Delivered by stagecoach and a herd of thundering snails!

…a herd of thundering snails…this is what popped into my head.

Herd of Snails

Can you hear them thundering? oh yes, thundering snails…

..and with that one sentence, he has reduced me to drawing snails in paint…and randomly giggling.

There may be hope for me yet.
