Herd of Snails

I asked a client today if they received what I had sent them in the mail yet (I sent it via regular mail – as in snail mail). He answered that yes he had received it today, and I quote, “Delivered by stagecoach and a herd of thundering snails!

…a herd of thundering snails…this is what popped into my head.

Herd of Snails

Can you hear them thundering? oh yes, thundering snails…

..and with that one sentence, he has reduced me to drawing snails in paint…and randomly giggling.

There may be hope for me yet.

Today’s Motivation

“If you can dream it, you can do it.” – Walt Disney (source: http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/w/waltdisney130027.html?src=t_motivational).

I’m dreaming of being able to create home made gifts for everyone for Christmas this year (yes, I am thinking WAY ahead, I have to). Painted, sewn, drawn, collaged, etc. I was once a very crafty person. It’s time to dust off the brushes and sewing machine (which is literally covered in dust from not being used) and get to it!

I’m dreaming it, I’m doing it…but first, I need more coffee.

Colour My World

“Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add colour to my sunset sky.” – Rabindranath Tagore (Source: http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/r/rabindrana153824).

Last night I took out my colour pencils and my mandala book and coloured. It felt wonderful. I love colour, I love to draw, to paint. I’m not great at any of those, but I love to do it. I think from now on I will make that a part of my daily routine – to paint, draw or colour before bed and during some point in a day as a form of meditation practice.

Spring has finally arrived in my neck of the world and it fills me with hope. I can’t wait to see the fireflies dancing in the summer nights, the chorus of frogs, birds, and insects filling the earth with their colourful songs and chirps. Breathing in the peace, breathing out the dark.
