Safety

“A ship in harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for.” John A Shedd

We live in a world that is the safest it has ever been.

Let that sink in.

Now go watch the news?

What do they tell you? Right…they tell you to be paranoid, be safe, report your neighbour, watch out for that other person. If they are different, they must be dangerous. If you don’t know how they live or who they are they must be dangerous. Lock your children up where they can be safe! Strangers all around…only problem is that most children are stolen by people they know. Even with all the wars raging in our world, the shootings, the murder…we are still safer than ever.

Safety.

What a bizarre notion.

Make everything too safe and your cutting off freedoms. Don’t make it safe enough and you are throwing the innocent to the wolves.

There is no winning. No middle grown. The masses grow in their hysteria, while the individual clamors to be heard.

We are safe. I want to be heard. I am free. Don’t fence me in.

Education. THAT is one of the keys – true education unfettered by religion or bigotry.

Cooperation.

Coexistence.

Let me dance if I want to – common sense will be my guide, thought my companion, peace my consort.
